Julia Klein is Chairwoman & Chief Executive Officer of C. H. Briggs Company, a Board Director, and leader in the distribution industry.
With expertise in strategy, governance, mergers and acquisitions, technology, supply chain, and the residential and commercial construction industries, Ms. Klein has led C.H. Briggs for over 25 years. The Company is one of the nation’s largest independently owned distributors of specialty building materials. Customers include manufacturers, architects and designers of specialty building products. The C.H. Briggs team has successfully integrated 6 acquisitions expanding the C.H. Briggs footprint throughout the East Coast.
Strategic use of new technology, and culture as a competitive advantage have established the company’s reputation as an innovator and Ms. Klein’s reputation as a thought leader in the industry.
She is currently a Director with the Federal Reserve Bank of Philadelphia, Board member of Eastern States Group, a Trustee at The College of Wooster, Board Chair of the Philadelphia Forum of Executive Women Foundation, and has a gubernatorial appointment to the Pennsylvania Early Learning Investment Commission. She is a member of Women Corporate Directors, Young Presidents’ Organization (YPO), and The Committee of 200, a global organization of women entrepreneurs, executives, and board members. She also serves on the Advisory Boards of Modern Distribution Management, Springboard Enterprises and ARZU Studio Hope.
She previously served on the Boards of Reading Health System, Reading Health Physician Partners, Hedwin Corporation, Quaker Maid Meats, Inc. and Arbill, Inc.
She is a former member of the Board of Directors of the NAW (National Association of Wholesaler-Distributors) Institute for Distribution Excellence, North American Building Materials Distribution Association, and the Cabinet Industry Distribution Association, which she helped establish.
She was a member of the Board of the Berks County Community Foundation, served as Chairwoman and continues as a member of its Governance Committee, and was a founding director of Berks Economic Partnership.
Ms. Klein was a finalist for the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year Awards© in Greater Philadelphia, and was honored with the Junior Achievement Entrepreneurial Hall of Fame Award, the Athena Award, the Voices of Change Award, and as a Distinguished Girl Scout Alumna by the Girl Scouts of Eastern Pennsylvania. She also received the SmartCEO magazine Brava Award and Best Managed Companies in Philadelphia.
She earned a M.A. in Public Policy as an Urban Scholars Fellow at the University of Chicago and a B.A. from the College of Wooster in Wooster, Ohio. Ms. Klein and her husband have a young adult son and live in Reading, Pennsylvania.
Jonathan W. Peters is the President and Chief Operating Officer of C.H. Briggs Company. He joined Briggs in May of 2015.
Jonathan joins C.H. Briggs after 15 years at Aramark where he held various executive positions in the refreshment services distribution business that bundled products, equipment, and service to bring value to customers in a way that differentiated the business from traditional and non-traditional competitors. His work at Aramark was built on the foundation of his prior stellar career at GE.
Jonathan has a B.A. in Business, Marketing from Florida Atlantic University and an MBA from Drexel University.
Luis joined C.H. Briggs in 1994 and has held various product management and marketing positions during his tenure. Today, as Chief Marketing Officer, he is responsible for the pursuit of market leadership and establishing C.H. Briggs as the preferred sourcing partner for creators and users of every commercial and interior building space. Luis oversees all marketing and business development efforts including strategy and planning, pricing strategy, marketing program development and execution, brand development and management, and corporate communications.
Luis earned a B.S. in Business Administration from the University of North Carolina. He began his career in outside sales with Hettich America and The Pillsbury Company.
Timothy Keane is the Chief Financial Officer of C.H. Briggs Company. He joined C.H. Briggs in July 2017. He came to us having a well-rounded career in publicly held corporations, privately held companies and private equity portfolio companies. He was awarded the “CFO of the Year” award in 2010 by the Philadelphia Business Journal.
Timothy is a proven strategic leader of distribution and manufacturing businesses that has focused on creating world class customer experiences that differentiated the businesses from competitors. He has a collaborative style and places a strong emphasis on coaching and mentoring while achieving a high level of performance.
Timothy has a BS in Accounting from Rutgers University and passed the CPA exam. At one point he held the top financial position in the US for a $220M subsidiary of Puratos, a worldwide manufacturer and distributor of food ingredients, responsible for 4 manufacturing plants and 9 distribution centers. He is an avid golfer, bowler, skier and audiophile.
Bob Spangler is Chief Sales Officer at C.H. Briggs Company. Bob joined C.H. Briggs in 1999 and has held various marketing and sales positions during his tenure. Today, he develops and leads sales strategy and execution to drive revenue and profitability, as well as cultivates customer relationships to strengthen the C.H. Briggs brand. Bob also oversees field operations and strategic account development.
Bob has a B.A. in Communications from The Pennsylvania State University. He began his career in outside sales with Pioneer Plastics.
Patti Rowland is the Chief Experience Officer at C.H. Briggs.
Patti joined the company in 2008 and has held several marketing and management positions within the Surfaces and Customer Care Groups. As Chief Experience Officer, Patti is responsible for leading business improvement initiatives to build organizational excellence and to deliver a world class customer experience.
Patti serves on the Board of Directors for the Pathway School located in Norristown, PA, and on The Family Advisory Council for Cradles to Crayons Philadelphia.
Patti earned a B.S. in Marketing from Philadelphia University and began her career at CertainTeed Corporation where she held several positions in corporate Marketing.
