10 States Adopt Ozone Transport Commission Rules

The Ozone Transport Commission (OTC) is a multi-state organization created under the Clean Air Act (CAA). It is responsible for advising EPA on transport issues and for developing and implementing regional solutions to the ground-level ozone problem in the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic regions.

As of February 2012, 10 states, CT, DC, DE, MD, ME, NJ, NY, PA, RI and VA have implemented the new Adhesives and Sealants Rule. Proposed implementation for Massachusetts is May 2012. These rules regulate Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs) from adhesives, sealants, adhesive primers, and sealant primers that are sold, used or applied in any OTC state.  The other OTC states are still in the process of adopting the new rules.

Review this FAQ to learn more about the rules and how they will affect products that you use.  For more state specific information, refer to http://www.otcair.org/.   C.H. Briggs and ITW TACC are your source for OTC compliant products.  Contact your Strategic Account Manager or Customer Service to help crossover your products or for a product demonstration.
