C.H. Briggs Announces Expanded Distribution Rights in New Markets

Expansion Solidifies the Company's Position as a Premier Provider of Specialty Building Materials for Interiors

READING, PA, July 31, 2009 - C.H. Briggs Company, one of the largest independently-owned distributors of interior and specialty building products in the United States, has been awarded expanded product distribution rights in some of the fastest growing markets in the United States. The agreement grants C.H. Briggs the rights to distribute several of its products, including DuPont^TM Corian® solid surfaces and Zodiaq® quartz surfaces, in regions previously operated by Maryland-based solid surface distributor Carapace, LLC.

C.H. Briggs will now have the infrastructure to market its surfacing products, including DuPont^TM Corian®, Zodiaq® and granite, in South Carolina, North Carolina, Georgia and Eastern Tennessee.  In these states, the expansion will begin with surfacing products, followed by hardware and board products. The deal will also expand the company's presence in Baltimore, Washington, D.C. and Northern Virginia, granting C.H. Briggs rights to distribute DuPont^TM Corian® and Zodiaq® in this region.
