C.H. Briggs Company Awarded Distribution Rights for Nevamar Decorative Surfaces
C.H. Briggs Company is pleased to announce that it has been awarded distribution rights for Nevamar products in North Carolina. The agreement grants C.H. Briggs the rights to market and distribute Nevamar's High Pressure Laminates (HPL) and specialty products, including fire retardant laminate, ThickLam phenolic core laminate, holographic surfacing and custom print laminates.

Briggs Company, has been appointed to serve as Vice President on the 2012 Board of Directors of the North American Building Material Distribution Association (NBMDA). The NBMDA is a multi-segment trade association that represents the leading wholesale distributors of specialty building products and woodworking materials.

C.H. Briggs Features Student Exhibit at the Philadelphia Corian® Design Studio
C.H. Briggs is hosting a temporary exhibit of student solutions proposed for a re-imagined historic district in Savannah, GA. Through a course collaboration with the Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD), five students from the School of Building Arts conceptualized and created new interior and exterior cladding design concepts using DuPont™ Corian®.

C.H. Briggs Brings in Healing Design Thought Leader for DesignPhiladelphia
Healing environments are no longer just for luxurious spas and exotic resorts. C.H. Briggs is bringing Barbara Huelat, a nationally-recognized expert in evidence-based healthcare design and a healing environment guru to the Philadelphia Corian® Design Studio for DesignPhiladelphia. Huelat will be leading her discussion, titled Organic Insight of Healing Environments, as part of the DuPont™ Corian® Dialogues on Design, a series that features influential voices from various segments of the design world. Her talk is taking place on Tuesday, October 18, 2011 at the Marketplace Design Center.

C.H. Briggs Awarded GSA Contract Schedule
C.H. Briggs announced today that the company has been awarded a U.S. General Services Administration (GSA) Schedule 51V contract (category 105 002, Hardware Superstore) and is now certified to supply designated hardware and production supplies to the federal, state and local government. Under contract number GS-21F-0130X, C.H. Briggs is approved to sell a range of products including drawer slides, hinges, bits, blades, abrasives, adhesives, and wood glue.

C.H. Briggs and SCAD Collaboration Produces Corian® Bench Rack - Named Among Best in Green Design at NeoCon 2011
C.H. Briggs partnered with the Savannah College of Art Design's furniture design department to challenge students to think beyond what's expected to create uncoventional, solution-oriented designs while integrating Corian®. Bench Rack, a Corian® based bicycle storage and seating hybrid created by SCAD M.F.A. furniture design student Matt Gray, was recently unveiled at NeoCon and received mention among Inhabitat's Best in Green Design.

C.H. Briggs Lights Up Atlanta with Incredible Corian® Creations in MARTA Stations
Throughout the month of June, the sun isn't the only thing that will be shining across Atlanta. A unique exhibition titled "Light Up Atlanta" will be offering Atlantans the chance to soak up some local art and culture during their daily commute. C.H. Briggs commissioned the placement of seven sculptural pieces - some illuminated - in seven of the city's busiest MARTA stations. Each item in the exhibition was created by members of the Atlanta architecture and design community to reflect how the city inspires them. The futuristic designs are made almost entirely of DuPont™ Corian®. -

DuPont Zodiaq Quartz Surfaces Sales Promotion Winners Announced
C.H. Briggs has announced the winners of its Zodiaq® sales promotion during a ceremony at the Corian® Design Studio in Philadelphia. Three DuPont™ Authorized Zodiaq® Manufacturers/Installers with the greatest increase in sales of Zodiaq® quartz surfaces over a four month time period in 2010 versus 2009 were each awarded a 63-inch wide screen television by promotion co-sponsors C.H. Briggs and DuPont™.

C.H. Briggs Company, one of the largest independently-owned distributors of interior and specialty building products in the United States, today announced that company Chairwoman and CEO, Julia Klein, has been invited to speak on the topics of analytics and strategic pricing at the National Association of Wholesaler-Distributors (NAW) 2011 Executive Summit, January 25-27 in Washington, DC. Klein will join a panel of industry experts and executives like Guy Blissett, Global Lead for Wholesale Distribution at IBM's Institute for Business Value and author of the new Facing the Forces of Change® study, to discuss the recent economic, business and government trends impacting the wholesale distribution industry.

C.H. Briggs CEO Travels to China with Delegation of Women Entrepreneurs
Julia Klein, Chairwoman and CEO of C.H. Briggs Company, joined a delegation of 30 women entrepreneurs and corporate leaders from the Committee of 200 (C200) on a trip to China. The group will travel to Shanghai and Beijing where they will tour the World Expo, visit C200 members' manufacturing sites, and provide outreach and mentoring for women entrepreneurs and business students at Tsinghua University and Fudan University. The resulting LIFE+ exhibition, on display at Philadelphia's Center for Architecture from Oct. 7 - Nov. 18, 2010, showcases smart product designs that could be easily integrated into everyday life.

DuPont Building Innovations and Intramuros Magazine Bring Celebrated Carte Blanche Exhibition to the DuPont Corian Design Studio in Philadelphia
Due to the overwhelming success of the imaginative Carte Blanche exhibition in New York City, DuPont Building Innovations (DuPont) and French design magazine Intramuros are sharing this collection of one-of-a-kind designs with a new audience in Philadelphia. Opening on Oct. 7 for DesignPhiladelphia and running through Oct. 29, Carte Blanche features works by legendary designers from around the world who were given unlimited freedom to design with a single A4 sheet of DuPont™ Corian® solid surface, an innovative design material with virtually limitless possibilities. The resulting exhibition celebrates the 25th anniversary of Intramuros, the designers who have graced the cover of the magazine, and the versatility of DuPont™ Corian®.

C.H. Briggs Company, one of the largest independently-owned distributors of interior and specialty building products in the United States, is pleased to announce that it has been awarded distribution rights for Blum products in central and eastern Pennsylvania. The agreement grants C.H. Briggs the rights to market and distribute Blum's hinge systems, drawer systems, and lift systems, including the CLIP top BLUMOTION, COMPACT, TANDEM, TANDEMBOX intivo and AVENTOS brands.

Briggs Company, was one of about 70 people from across America invited to the White House on February 17th as representatives of how the federal economic stimulus has helped the country. How One Distributor is Using Facebook and Blogging
We at MDM recently received a news release about one building materials distributor's new use of social media and online tools to support their business strategy and build brand. I've heard arguments in both ways from distributors when it comes to using tools like Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter and blogs to market your company. Of course some Web platforms and social media websites are better than others at supporting business goals. Right now, it seems distributors are in testing mode, or waiting to see how their peers fare online before they dive in.

- C.H. Briggs has introduced a temporary student design exhibit at the Philadelphia Corian® Design Studio, which was originally launched for DesignPhiladelphia. Through a course collaboration with the Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD), five students from the School of Building Arts conceptualized and created new interior and exterior cladding design concepts using DuPont™ Corian®.
Through January 2012, the building models will be on display along with samples of textured Corian® panels designed by the students.
