Reading, PA, December 17, 2012 - C.H. Briggs, one of the largest independently-owned distributors of interior and specialty building products in the United States, recently donated $100,000 of kitchen sinks and cabinet knobs and pulls to the Habitat ReStores in Reading, PA and Baltimore, MD from its local distribution centers.

"Our contribution to Habitat will help improve communities where C.H. Briggs has offices and beyond," said Don Schalk, chief operating officer, C.H. Briggs. "We strongly support community involvement and our coworkers are very active with a number of nonprofits including Habitat for Humanity. This donation exemplifies C.H. Briggs living its core values."

Habitat for Humanity ReStores are resale outlets that accept surplus and gently used building and household materials to sell at a fraction of retail prices. With more than 750 ReStores, Habitat diverts tons of materials away from landfills and allows bargain hunters to obtain quality goods for their homes. Profits from the ReStores support Habitat's affiliates as they renovate, repair and build homes with volunteers and low and moderate income families, revitalizing and strengthening communities throughout the United States.
