C.H. Briggs wants to inspire the imaginations and ignite the creativity of the next generation of architects and designers.
C.H. Briggs partnered with Philadelphia University's Department of Industrial Design Program to challenge 22 talented students to experience DuPont™ Corian® as a multi-dimensional design medium. The curriculum developed focused on transgenerational design and students were challenged to explore the materiality and beauty of Corian®. Corian®, a flexible design material that can be thermoformed into custom shapes and contours, sandblasted, routed, carved, laser-etched and backlit, gave students virtually limitless possibilities with their designs. A visit to the DuPont™ Corian® Design Studio in Philadelphia, combined with hands-on experience learning fabrication techniques with fabrication partners A.S.S.T, John Kramer's Fabrication, MacLaren Fabrication and McGrory Fabrication, inspired the students to design, create and perform with Corian®.
The resulting LIFE+ exhibition showcased imaginative, smart product designs that could be easily integrated into everyday life.

A wall-mounted reinvention of the antiquated entryway bench with bold graphic style. Brought to life by MacLaren Fabrication.
Adrienne King, Designer - "Corian® Brella Stand"
An interactive and innovative umbrella stand that gives the user the option for "simultaneous rotation or chaotic operation," inspired by King's love for complexity and the non-porous characteristics of Corian®.
Julianne Magliaro, Designer - "Spezzato"
Spezzato is a table that separates into 3 smaller tables to reveal the hidden beauty of the edge captured from the twists and curvature of broken glass. Brought to life by MacLaren Fabrication.
Seton Spadt, Designer - "Corian® Fence"
The Corian® Fence is a modular outdoor fencing system that gives the user freedom to customize their patio or lawn with specialized pickets. Brought to life by John Kramer's Fabrication Inc.
Jeff Steel, Designer - "Cascade"
A fountain that inspires visual curiosity.
Trevor Walsh, Designer - "Corian®Ware Umote"
